Tom Dick & Debbie Productions is looking for a technically minded, all-round filmmaker. You’ll need to be an experienced Final Cut Pro editor and understand the technical side of video production including pre and post production, web delivery, compression, complex DVD authoring, and motion graphics.
Lighting and sound skills and how to make a high quality video all on your own (or with a team) would be a real benefit.
We need someone practical and self-motivated, who can communicate well with clients and is as happy to produce as they are to direct, edit or just do whatever has to be done to make it happen.
You also need to be able to create magic out of tiny budgets, be accurate at all times, and never need your work checking.
You will work with a friendly, busy & creative team, dedicated to making good work with the professional commitment of Soho, but in the more relaxed spires of Oxford.
Essential Skills
Excellent and fast Final Cut Pro editing and technical video skills (colour correction; encoding; compression etc)
Demonstrable guerrilla / fast turn-around film-making experience.
A creative eye and a strong narrative sense.
Accurate, organized, enthusiastic and motivated
Proven ability to deliver creative and interesting video within limited budgets to the client’s delight!
Comfortable working with new media, interactive DVD-roms and streaming web technology.
Good general IT skills, specifically with Macs, networking and MS Office.

Experience of directing small (1 or 2 camera) shoots
Camera Operator
Proven Motion Graphics experience (Motion or After Effects)
Common Tasks
Responsible for producing our video projects from beginning to end, particularly editing and possibly directing. Involved in every stage of the video, from pre-prod to delivery, primarily in our studio but also on location.
Researching and assessing ideas and finished scripts;
Liaising with our clients
Acting as technical video consultant within TDD and to our clients
Pulling together all the strands of creative and practical talent involved in the project to create a team;
Organizing shooting schedules, call sheets etc;
Troubleshooting technical issues (Final Cut Pro, DVD Studio Pro, encoding, compression etc)
Supervising the progress of the project from pre-production to post production;
Bringing the finished production in on budget;
Delivering the final product to the client in the formats they require;
Dealing with all the practical and political aspects of keeping a project running smoothly;
Using MS Excel and Filemaker for budgeting and scheduling.
Working Hours
Monday – Friday, 09:30 – 6:00pm however dedication to the cause is necessary.
